Yes, it’s official, after all these roumers that Mac will delay it’s release again because the developing teams were working on the iphone, etc…

The Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is shipping on the 26th, The count down has just started on apple’s homepage.

 

Packed with more than 300 new features, Mac OS X Leopard goes on sale Friday, October 26, at 6:00 p.m. at Apple’s retail stores and Apple Authorized Resellers, Apple announced today. And, beginning today, customers can place pre-orders on Apple’s online store. “Leopard, the sixth major release of Mac OS X, is the best upgrade we’ve ever released,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “And everyone gets the ‘Ultimate’ version, packed with all the new innovative features, for just $129.”

Desktop:

The new look of Leopard showcases your favorite desktop image and puts new file stacks at your fingertips for a stunning, clutter-free workspace. Learn more

I’ll be going to Leopard as well …but probably waiting till .2 or .3 just so the kinks can work themselves out.

yallah, when i have an extra 2000 bucks i don’t need perhaps i get a mac and give it a try :P

I’ve already ordered two iMacs, the Apple store I rang said I should be contacted by email and asked if I want automatic upgrade to Leopard. So you should get Leopard with any new orders even before Oct 26th.

There are student offers were you get a discount plus divide your payments up to 48 months I believe.

voxo: How does the automatic upgrade works? is it just an online upgrade or will they send you a dvd? and what if I order one after the 26th, How will I get the os? will it be installed already or will I have the disk?
