Now I am pissed..
After buying my 8GB iPod nano about 6 months ago, I really thought that it was the best and the coolest ipod ever made, thanks to it’s really small size, cool new features and its affordable price.
Until 10 minutes ago, when I found this on apple’s homepage :

dude, im more pissed. i bought my nano 8gb only TWO months ago. i even scanned the web to make sure nothing new was going to come out.

Nas, two months is a really short period, I bought my ipod nano when it was only a couple of months old.
Always check mac rumors before buying a product from apple!

uh people didn’t lose anything, they paid money and got what they paid for. Technology moves forward, by the time a product is for sale it is already obsolete.
Yea i don’t like that my 3G Nano has been replaced, I would be happy with an update that includes the genius feature, and any other features that aren’t accelerometer related…i think that would be fair to people who may have just bought 3G Nanos.
Personally I want a 32GB touch, thats enough to fit all my movies and music on ^_^ sadly i have 12GB of podcasts so that won’t quite fit…but i’ma wait ti’ll the prices drop and for me to be ready to buy a MBP when my MB is like 2-3 years old(its currently 1) Plus i have other priorities, such as a car, snowboard and digital camera

damn it, i need to have that new ipod,… metro station’s “shake it” is a good bgm for the ipod nano shake feature…
still stucked with the ipod 5th gen…, classic had its own funeral.
now its all about nano and touch… excluding iphone, of course.
grrrr…!!! ipod nano!

The same exact thing happened to me a couple years ago. I bought the iPod mini the DAY before the nano first came out. Luckily, the store took back the mini and I was able to buy the nano. You might try something like that. Or just realize that it’s the MO of Apple and that many many people are in your boat.

yah I have a 16gb when it first came out. And I knew a bigger one would come out.it was worth getting.I think my itouch is so much better than that new thing.in fact I am posting this from my iPod. Being able to go on utube and go on the Internet on this thing was worth the $400.

I don’t like it… I am quite content with my 3rd gen nano and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Its already in my favorite color (red) so a few extra colors doesn’t do anything for me. I don’t like the shape, (it looks like the old nanos) and i never did like that shape… TOO NARROW. The 3rd gen nano is truly a MINI iPod based on shape and everything, and i’m glad I bought it when I did because if they’ve discontinued 3G then I woulda been pissed if I hadn’t got one yet. I don’t wanna watch videos sideways… it makes no sense, what a crappy ipod. (I woulda liked to have seen my 3G in 16GB tho, thats my only complaint.)

I think you’re saying this because you’re jealous.
Why would apple bring something out if it’s worse than the nano 3rd gen. I bet your ipod can’t have genius and the accelerometer.
besides, If you have seen the 4th gen nano for real you would realise that it’s really beautyful. (I thought that they were ugly too, untill I saw them in the apple store 
)

i got one of these beautys yesterday. they are amazing. well better than any other ipod i have ever owned.
i strongly recommend them! even an 8GB is enough, you can have quite a lot on it!
I think it is georgous and the glass is brilliant. feels good. iv got the pink, which is veery pretty!!
i think you just have to get this thing! what an ipod! The accelometer is very good, and everything! i love it ! you?
well anyway good luck in selling your 3rd gen! and get the 4th.. you just have to get it its a miracle compared to the 3rd gen.. no offence.

We r going to open an apple kiosk in bluecube outlets across the country. The kiosk is call studioz and we want it to be different from the other apple stores. Email to me and tell us wat you think a perfect apple store would be. Tell us even it is not practical, who knows we might implement ur ideas!! .. have fun with ur iPods.! cheers.

wow man, i’d be pissed as well, these things happen all the time, you get something good, pay loads for it, then the b******s bring out even better and cheaper, its all wrong, they should compensate people for their losses..
